HERA UK announces its first international grants competition for women entrepreneurs in Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Romania and Ukraine. Any woman entrepreneur may apply for funding to support equipment and other capital development costs if she can demonstrate how her work may help in countering human trafficking in their region. Some 30 grants across the five countries averaging €500 (and ranging between €200 - €1500) will be offered to selected women entrepreneurs according to one of the following three categories:
1. Young women entrepreneurs (under 30 years of age) who have been trafficked and have organised their own ventures;
2. Woman entrepreneurs who have established a micro or small enterprise and are willing to employ and/or train young women at risk for trafficking;
3. Young women who want to develop and implement an innovative idea to stop and/or counter trafficking in their own country.
If you are a woman entrepreneur and have an idea that fits one of those three categories, please fill out the enclosed application form and send to hera.grants@gmail.com or apply on line through www.herequality.org. Applications should be filled out in English.
The Competition closes on Friday, May 24 at midnight. Winners will be announced by June 15th and awards will be distributed between 16th June - 24th August 2013. Successful applicants will also receive on line mentoring support, technical assistance, and publicity for their ventures on the HERA website.
