Who can participate?
The Poster contest is opened to 6th and 7th form boys and girls. The Essay contest is opened to 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th form boys and girls and to 1st course university students.
What should the participants submit?
osters: One A3 drawing, collage, sketch, or painting reflecting this year’s theme, “Women in Leadership”. It should explore the possibilities of how women are perceived in the workforce and what skills they can bring to the workplace. All Posters should include a title.
Essays: Max 4-page (Teter notebook) essay in Armenian explaining their thoughts and ideas on the topic “Women in Leadership”. The aim is to encourage Armenia’s youth to express their opinions and ideas related to how they perceive women as contributing members of Armenia’s leadership.
The essays can address the questions:
- How can a woman be a leader?
- Who is a female leader in your life?
- Are there areas that are/aren’t suitable for women as leaders?
- Etc.
Please ensure the participant’s name, grade, and city/town/village name, address, telephone number, e-mail address are clearly written on the backside of the artwork or essay.

When is the contest deadline?
All submissions must be in the Peace Corps or AYWA Office by Saturday, March 18th, 2011. Judging will be held during the following week.
Are there prizes?
Yes, there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners of the national contest for both poster and essay. There will be an Awards ceremony in Yerevan for winners, where they will receive their prizes.
