At the press room of “Noyan Tapan” media center meeting with representatives of Armenian Young Women’s Association and OXFAM who are organizers of “Female Food Hero-2013” award was held. As well as with participants, who are engaged in farming within the agricultural consumer cooperatives in Tavush and Vayots Dzor regions.
“Female Food Hero” project and award is being implemented for the third time by Armenian Young Women’s Association and OXFAM, within the OXFAM’s “GROW” global campaign.
The purpose of “Female Food Hero” award is to encourage active and successful women entrepreneurs in agricultural and farm sectors in Armenia, who succeeded to implement positive changes in their activity and to contribute to local communities' sustainable development.
“Female Food Hero” award is a way to identify women who are active in agricultural food production area, to encourage women who produce agricultural eco-food in making unique and exemplary investment in development of their families and communities.
“Female Food Hero” award is being implemented since 2012. Till now 20 women from all the regions of Armenia have awarded “Female Food Hero” award, 6 agricultural consumer cooperatives, 1 women’s committee working adjacent cooperative and 16 women engaged in agricultural food producing have awarded encouraging awards.
“Female Food Hero-2013” award will take place on October 15, from 2:00 PM till 5:00 PM at Lovers’ park (Erevan, Baghramyan 21). It will be accompined by a booklet presenting heroic women success stories in agriculture and presenting agricultural food produced by them.
