Essay and poster contest “The role of woman in my community” and “My role in the development of my community.”

Within “The development of women’s abilities in Lori region of RA” Armenian Young Women’s Association is organizing essay and poster contest. The partners of the project are the embassy of Kingdom of the Netherlands and Lori regional administration (marzpetaran).

The theme of the poster is “The role of women in my community”.
The theme of the essay is “My role in the development of my community.”

Who can participate?
Women and girls aged 13-40 from Alaverdi, Akhtala, Haghpat, Odzoun, Akori, Neghoc, Ayrum, Shamlugh communities of Lori region can participate in the poster and essay contest.
Girls aged 13-20 can participate in the poster contest.
Women and girls aged 18-40 can take part in the essay contest.

What is being required from the participants?
Posters.
The participant should submit an A4-sized paper drawings, collage, sketch or painting that reflects the theme of the competition: “The role of woman in my community.”
Creative approach will be encouraged.
The poster must have a title given by the participant. In the bottom right corner of the poster the artist should include their personal information (name, surname, birth date, community), and in the opposite of the poster their mailing address, email and phone number must be mentioned.
Essays.
The participants should submit script written essay one and a half to two A4-sized pages long. The essay must be in Armenian. The essay must reflect the author’s opinion, ideas, thoughts and suggestions on the “My role in the development of my community” theme.
On the top of the paper intended for the essay the authors personal information (name, surname, birth date, community), mail address, email and phone number must be indicated.
Then the title of the essay “My role in the development of my community” followed by the essay itself.
The purpose of essay and poster contest is to encourage women and girls of mentioned communities to express their thoughts and ideas regarding the subject.

The Deadline of the contest.
All the works must be submitted to Liana Dallaqyan or to coordinators of Women councils in the mentioned communities till July 9th of 2011by 2:00 PM.
The works will be reviewed during the next week. The award ceremony will be held in July.

Awards
The 1st, 2nd, 3rd place awards, as well as encouraging prizes will be given to both posters and essays contest participants. The best posters in great sizes, as well as the best essays will be published for the public.
