On December 12, 2015 AYWA’s (Armenian Young Women’s Association) traditional Charity Bazaar dedicated to New Year and Christmas was held in Yerevan Municipality building.
More than 80 participants took part in the Bazaar. The participants were AYWA WENA members, women producers from Yerevan and the regions of Armenia, NGO representatives, Syrian Armenians as well as local and international organizations and Embassies, especially Embassy of People’s Republic of China,Embassy of Switzerland, Embassy of Federative Republic of Brazil, Embassy of Lithuania, Embassy of Argentine Republic, Embassy of United Arab Emirates.
Bazaar participants presented ceramics, embroidery, jewelry, decorative accessories, Christmas toys, children's clothing, natural cosmetics, homemade sweets, lots of dishes, dairy products and so on.
During the Bazaar cultural program was organized, with participation of young artists, children’s corner, clown, Santa Claus and Snow Maiden, also a raffle was held with a lot of prizes.
Charity Bazaars have special goals each year: to contribute to the solution of problems faced by women and girls, supporting women's and girls' health, to contribute increasing the employment rate among women, small and medium enterprise development.
The funds raised from this year’s Bazaar will be used to directly support to develop women entrepreneurship projects in the Republic of Armenia.
One of AYWA's strategic directions is to promote women’s economic participation. In the framework of this directon are being organized various events such as traditional charity bazaars.
AYWA is organizing charity bazaars since 2010, 2-3 times in a year dedicated to Women’s month, Independence Day of the RA, New Year and Christmas.
