Charity fair was accompanied by a cultural program in participation with young performers. There was also children’s corner, children’s entertainment was provided by members and volunteers of AYWA, fairytale characters, as well as Santa Claus and Snow Maiden. Within the frameworks of the fair silent auction and lottery was organized with different presents.
“Armenian Young Women’s Association” AYWA non-governmental organization was established in 2004.
Armenian Young Women’s Association celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2014.
Among strategic directions of AYWA is empowerment of women’s economic participation. Within it different events are being organized, including annual charity fairs.
AYWA has been organizing charity fairs since 2010. 2-3 fairs each year devoted to Women’s day, Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia, New Year and Christmas.
The aims of Charity fairs are to contribute to the solution of problems faced by women and girls, to assist in maintaining the health of women and girls, contribute to increasing employment level among women, small and medium enterprise development.
The goals of AYWA's New Year Charity fair are
- The establishment of women’s social and economic support center in Lori region, for women and girls of more than 10 communities.
- The construction of playgrounds at least for 15 communities of Lori, Shirak, Tavoush and Kotayq regions.
