Local Economic Development (LED) model development for Spitak cluster communities, Lori region

The process of LED model development has launched in Lori region for Spitak cluster communities (Spitak, Shirakamut, Kharadzor, Geghasar, Sarahart, Saramej, Lernanck, Lernavan, Shenavan, Jrashen, Ghursali). The LED model development is being implemented within Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia Project. The project is implemented by the Armenian Young Women's Association (AYWA) and financed by the European Union.
The LED model development process enables communities to develop new approaches for social-economic development with participation of local authorities, actively operating organizations in economic sector, players in different fields and active residents of communities.
The LED model is a document, which determines the community's competitive advantages, social-economic development trends and opportunities. Within Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia Project in February-May 2014 LED models has been developed for Akthala, Alaverdi, Tumanyan, Vanadzor clusters’ communities.

Armenian Young Women’s Association (AYWA) has been implementing Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia Project in Lori Region since May 2013. The project duration is three years from May 2013 to May 2016.
The goal of the Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia Project is to promote the development of women’s social and economic capacities in Lori region and the improvement of women’s social and economic situation. The project partners are CISP organization, Lori Marzpetaran and Vanadzor municipality. The project is funded by the European Union.
