The ninth lesson of “Woman Leader” project took place.
TThe training participants were greeted by Davit Harutyunyan - assistant of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.
The topic of the day was “Leadership” which was within the theme of “Principles of Democracy”
The topic was held by Vilik Edigaryan – Candidate of Physico-Mathematics, Associated professor of Public Administration Academy of the Republic of Armenia and Ruzan Shahinyan – Master on Psychology of Yerevan State University.
The trainers introduced the participants the understanding of leadership, similarities and differences between leadership and management, organized a discussion on the subject of the art of influence on people. The day was full of group and individual works.

The eighth lesson of “Woman Leader” project took place.
The training participants were greeted by Marina Chatinyan - Founding Director of “Bars” real estate agency.
The topic of the day was “Management” which was within the theme of “Principles of Democracy”
The topic was held by Andranik Tevanyan - Director of Politeconomia Political, Economic and Legislative Research Institute, and Anahit Sargsyan - President of Business Woman NGO.
The trainers provided the participants the Political management concept, specifications, methods, Armenian experience of political management. The participants had discussions with the experts.

The seventh lesson of “Woman Leader” project took place.
The training participants were greeted by Zaruhi Postanjyan – member of Heritage Parliamentary fraction.
The topic of the day was “Women Political Participation” which was within the theme of “Principles of Democracy”.
The topic was held by Anoush Begloian - Deputy Director of the Armenian Association of Public Relations, and Anahit Aghoyan – Bureau member of “National Democratic Union” Political Party. The trainers provided the participants an overview of the current situation of the women representation state institutions in the Republic of Armenia, mechanisms of women participation, as well with the participants they analyzed the opportunities to promote women candidates. The day was rich in group working exercises.

The sixth lesson of “Woman Leader” project took place.
The training participants were greeted by Mark Levinson – USAID Democracy adviser.
The topic of the day was “Principles of Democracy: Mass Media Strategy” which was held by Aghasy Yenokyan - Director of Radio Liberty Yerevan, and Suren Surenyants - Former Editor-in-chief of Zhamanak Newspaper. The participants were provided with the information about Mass Media in Armenia, Targeting and Coverage of Separate Media Groups, basic principles of Organization of Press Conferences.

The fifth lesson of “Woman Leader” project took place.
The training participants were greeted by Richard Giragosian - Director of Armenian Center for National and International Studies (ACNIS).
Heghine Bisharyan - Head of Legal State fraction and candidate for Yerevan mayor.
Karine Hakobyan – President of “Reform” NGO, was the expert of the day. The topic was “Gender problems in the Republic of Armenia”. The participants were provided both Armenian and international experience on this field, including national and international documents.

The fourth lesson of “Woman Leader” project took place.
The training participants were greeted by Larisa Alaverdyan - the sectary of “Heritage” fraction. The topic of the day was “Basics of Democracy” which was held by Gayane Markosyan - president of “Free Forum for Civil Initiatives” NGO and Avetik Ishkhanyan - president of the Armenian Helsinki Committee. The training was full of both theoretical and practical materials.

The third lesson of “Woman Leader” project took place.
US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Armenia Marie L.Yovanovitch greeted the participants. The participants were greeted also by Naira Sultanyan - Political Office of British Embassy in Yerevan. Naira Sultanyan had a discussion on topic "International Community".

The second lesson of “Woman Leader” project took place.
Arpi Vardanian - the Country Director of Armenian Assembly of America, greeted the training participants.

The project “Woman Leader” supported by the National Democratic Institute of US has started on the 4th of December. The Project is being implemented by the Coordination Board of “Woman Leader” Forum.
The first phase of the Project includes different types of training courses. The number or participants was 30 witch are representatives of NGOs, political parties, state and private institutions, as well as students.
The first phase of the Project will last till March, 2009.
The aim of the Project is to develop young women’s leadership skills.








Our country is developing towards establishment of civil society and democracy. It is a challenging goal, and in these arduous conditions the role of women in Armenia as well as anywhere is crucial...
