The delegation of Armenian Young Women’s Association headed by AYWA president Lilit Asatryan participated in Eurasian Women’s Forum. Forum took place on September 24-25 in Saint Petersburg.
The head of delegation of the Republic of Armenia was Vice President of the National Assembly Mrs. Hermine Naghdalyan. 800 women from 85 countries were participating in the forum. The president of Forum’s organizing committee was chairperson of the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS member states Valentina Matvienko.
The main topics of the forum’s discussion were sustainable development and social security, international cooperation for development, the enlargement of opportunities of women’s participation in changing economy, politics, and social engagement.
The forum brought together senior officials, business, civil society representatives, many influential and authoritative figures of international women's movement from different countries.
During the forum AYWA delegation had working meetings and discussions with representatives of different countries’ delegations.
Within the forum the Declaration has been adopted, that stresses the importance of women’s role and participation in geopolitical, social and economic, health, cultural and other processes.
The Second Eurasian Women’s Forum will be held on 2018 in Ufa city.
