The “The development of leadership” summer school organized by the Armenian Young Women Association has launched already. The president of the association Lilit Asatryan said after the opening ceremony that the school is dedicated to the development of the leadership skills of the women of our country.
“By saying leadership we do not take its political meaning. The leadership can be and can show itself in different fields, in community, in social life, for the woman, taking into consideration her abilities, to use her forces in the sphere where she can use them”,- she said.
According to L. Asatryan, it is important to realize that it is possible to combine the family and work, and being a leader doesn’t mean that she is sacrificing her family for the sake of other values.
“The workshop is multilateral, from the health care up to public speech. Vast place is dedicated to the RA management system, for the woman to know how her country is managed. In that framework the participants will meet prominent women of our country, which will encourage them as future leaders”, - mentioned the president of the association.
20 young ladies and women from 18 till 30 years for 11 days in Yerevan and Hanqavan will try to reinforce the will of being a leader and will be involved in the net of the association for having their future input.
L. Asatryan is sure that the woman can have her position, simply, she says, the difficult social economic situation disturbs her. “But if the woman thinks she is a leader, thinks she can have her own input in improvement of something, it means she has got that mission”, - assures Lilit Asatryan.
She also doesn’t think that the Armenian society is not able to accept a woman leader and reminded about the two women ministers, NA deputies, as well as the fact that even in 1920 the woman had the right of elections, whereas in Europe nobody could think about it even.
The participants of the summer school are inspired and they mention that it is a one more opportunity to develop their leadership skill.
“I am really too much impressed, and I think the classes will be really hot. I can imagine the hidden and very strong force that will also pass to us. I take part in the workshop to reinforce the will and the skills of the leader that I’ve got and later to be useful in the managing sphere”, - said Ani Shahbazyan from Ararat, who is one of the participants of the program.
