On the 10-23 of July 2009 the project "Breast cancer early prevention in Armenia" was implemented in the region Kotayk

On the 10-23 of July 2009 AYWA and “Open medical club” NGOs with the support of the “Fight against cancer” world organization and in cooperation with Kotayk marzpetaran implemented the project “Breast cancer early prevention in Armenia, in the Kotayk region”.

The objective of the project was to raise the level of women`s awareness on the methods of early prevention of the breast cancer. Within the program in 10 communities of the Kotayk region interviews, as well as "Peer to Peer'' training and a training of self-examination methods of breast cancer prevention were organized. Not only women and girls but also representatives of local authorities and workers of medical institutions participated in the different levels of the project. Program manuals about breast cancer early prevention and representation of self-examination methods were published within the project and were distributed to medical institutions of the region and to the wider public.
