“Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia” Project Closing Conference

On 28th of April the closing conference of "Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia" project.
The goal of the Conference was to share project results and achievements with the broad strata of society, as well as to reflect on women entrepreneurship challenges.
55 communities of Lori region were included in the Project (2013-2016), involving more than 1000 participants, both male and female.
Thanks to the Project (2013-2016) 38 businesses have been awarded with grants, instead of planned 20, (individuals and groups), with the involvement of 16 communities (Vanadzor, Tashir,Stepanavan, Spitak, Arevashogh, Shirakamut, Hartagyugh, Jrashen, Odzun, Alaverdi, Karinj, Akhtala, Shamlugh, Shnogh, Haghpat). 30 business projects out of 38 were start-up enterprises.
Grants were allocated to the enterprises in the field of agriculture, health, industry, tourism, and culture.
