Araksya Melkonyan

If we measure success by the progress that someone has made in their professional career then Araksya Melkonyan is among the leaders in Armenia. Seven years’ ago she was a struggling post-graduate student, mother of two young boys, doing the best she could to share her time between family, work and study. Today she is a co-founder and the managing director of the most successful vocational training centre in Armenia. And over the years that she was developing her business managed to to qualify as a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (USA). In 2008 she became an associate member of Chartered Management Institute (UK). Seven years ago when she started her business the first training course that her company held was for five students; today there are over 400 students attending various courses on accounting, finance, management, and English language, at her training centre. The early days of her business were quite challenging but because of her perseverance with quality and customer care, together with her unique social and networking skills, she overcame these obstacles and has brought her company to a point where it is now the market leader in Armenia and even exports its services to Georgia.

Araksya Melkonyan is a member of Armenian Women Coordination Board, founded by NDI and Second Vice-President/Treasurer of American Chamber of Commerce in Armenia.
